Don't like the UIO form factor, difficult to change the X8 with newer Board.
But is crazy cheap and comes with 2x PWS-920P-SQ ... cheaper than the PSU's alone :p

supermicro specs of the sys, then click the test report on the right, near the psu.

Guess they haven't swapped the psu before selling ...

With SQ PSUs these could be low noise servers. But would be even better if the motherboards (UIO being proprietary) could be replaced with LGA2011 boards ;)

Not sure if it's really SQ PSU - i'd check with the seller before.
No PSU in the parts list of the sys, but link of the test to the SQ.
On the other hand, in the parts list of the chassis alone it's the 920 platinum PSU without SQ ...

Guess the chassis is not really useful with any other board, at least riser, maybe also rear window, will not fit 2011 and beyond.

Confirmed with the seller: the PSU is PWS-920P-1R.
I like the servers anyway with 16 2.5" bays and with some low power Xeon LGA1366 these could be great for some usage cases.

Yes, price is very nice ...
Not sure if the L - CPU's will idle lower than others.
The whole X8 platform will draw a quite high baseline, but should be ok with the platinum PSU's and if not running 24/7.
If you get one i'd be interested to know what they have at the wall.

Not sure of this perticular chassis but Rear window was fairly easy to replace on SC216A chassis from UIO to LP. I suspect 213, 216, 826 chassis have many common parts

Yes after a rear window swap you'll be able to use lga2011 boards. Often I'll pick up a cheap chassis I want with the wrong rear window and just swap it out.

Sometimes you'll find them on retail sites, but it's hit or miss. Supermicro's RMA team has always been willing to sell me rear windows.
