We emailed Arista support trying to get firmware for 7150S we got off ebay. Per support, anything >= 4.24.X is NOT supported on the 7150S platform. What? Crazy!

So the latest we can get on 7150S is 2.23.X?

Right now we 4.23.5M-2GB but want to get more of the latest bug fixes.

I suggest to use more stable firmware which end with M , like EOS-4.26.4M.swi or even EOS-4.25.6M.swi , possible to find in google .

Thanks!. I was able to find and flash EOS-4.26.4M.swi

My switch stopped working which is why I wanted to try to flash the firmware and see if this would fix it. Unfortunately it didn't. Right after it finishes loading EOS, the fans start spinning at full RPM and the switch stops responding via serial cable or USB keyboard. I'm only able to type a few characters before it freezes. The strange thing is that this doesn't happen if I hit Ctrl + C while powering up, before EOS is loaded. Here I can enter commands (e.g.: remove the old startup-config etc). And of course, the switch is no longer under warranty.

If any one has any clue as to what's going on, I would appreciate it!

Pre-boot, I think you're in Aboot running from the NAND flash? Once you load the image, you're reading from the SATADOM and running the image from RAM. So maybe failing SATADOM, bad RAM, or both?

When you load an updated EOS on the switch, you're not flashing it, you're just copying the SWI onto the SATADOM. It's not an erase and burn like updating a NAND package (on say an ICX switch), as far as I'm aware.

May be you can get some logs?
Sure. Here are the logs. I just removed the serial #.

The error in the beginning must be because I have to power it down when it freezes and the filesystem is not unmounted properly.

Code:
[ 1.491575] Running dosfsck on: /mnt/flash

Aboot 6.1.7-13531819
fsck.fat 3.0.23 (2013-10-15)
0x41: Dirty bit is set. Fs was not properly unmounted and some data may be corrupt.

Press Control-C now to enter Aboot shell
