versions newer than the one in my compatibility list will not work, it's not a matter of disk space - the support/drivers for that generation of ASIC are totally removed from newer versionsHi,
I've got myself a DCS-7050SX2-72Q. The last firmware version that is compatible is 4.28 it seems. Could someone please help me?
Thank you!
EDIT: Does anyone know if newer versions can be used as well, even if not officially supported?
From a bit of spelunking this seems to be the flash chip:
Is it upgradeable, should newer firmware versions be problematic because of insufficient disk space? I haven't yet opened the switch up to look inside.Code:SD Host controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] FCH SD Flash Controller (rev 01) (prog-if 01) kernel driver: sdhci-pci /dev/mmcblk0p1 mounted on /mnt/flash [ 1.517260] sdhci: Secure Digital Host Controller Interface driver [ 1.517261] sdhci: Copyright(c) Pierre Ossman [ 1.517281] sdhci-pci 0000:00:14.7: SDHCI controller found [1022:7813] (rev 1) [ 1.517368] sdhci-pci 0000:00:14.7: identified AMD generation 0 chip [ 1.518516] mmc0: SDHCI controller on PCI [0000:00:14.7] using DMA [ 1.610434] mmc0: new high speed MMC card at address 0001 [ 1.610766] mmcblk0: mmc0:0001 008G70 3.68 GiB [ 1.610870] mmcblk0boot0: mmc0:0001 008G70 partition 1 4.00 MiB [ 1.610961] mmcblk0boot1: mmc0:0001 008G70 partition 2 4.00 MiB [ 1.611051] mmcblk0rpmb: mmc0:0001 008G70 partition 3 4.00 MiB [ 1.611861] mmcblk0: p1 p2
EDIT2: Is there perhaps a maintained list of checksums for EOS images, so one could verify if images found on some http/ftp site are unmodified?
Thanks for explaining!versions newer than the one in my compatibility list will not work, it's not a matter of disk space - the support/drivers for that generation of ASIC are totally removed from newer versions

YesThanks for explaining!
Still looking for the firmware. I found a file online, that I *think* might be the correct firmware for me ... but I'm unsure if it is for my model and unmodified ... md5sum is:
Is it still the newest version?Code:d6a4e061b955dea5baa841bc79b524e9 EOS-4.28.10.1M.swi
It sounds like you might have confirmed this already, but in case you do still need to know, the 7280SR/SR2 is supported in the latest 4.30/4.31/4.32 releases.I'm contemplating getting a DCS-7280SR/SR2. Does anyone know if all, even the current, firmware versions support honor based licensing? I found this here indicating I may need an older firmware image (at least for certain features) ... https://forums.servethehome.com/index.php?threads/full-ip-tables-budget-routers.41194/#post-390038
If so, which version is the last one to use/look for?
EDIT: Everythings fine it seems, even for latest firmware ...
Thanks, but yes, I knew from a post from fohdeesha a few pages back, that 7280SR/SR2 is supported by the most current release at that time, 4.31. What I was unclear about was whether the licensing model works "the same" for the 7280 series as for the 7050. I was even able to load the flexroute profile and apply it - but haven't tested if it is "active" (or don't know how to without trying to stuff it full with the internet BGP table). It appears nothing else is restricted except maybe MACSEC, which probably needs a license, but my model doesn't have it anyways. It sounds like you might have confirmed this already, but in case you do still need to know, the 7280SR/SR2 is supported in the latest 4.30/4.31/4.32 releases.
hello! How are you ? Could you release this image so I can download it? I have an Arista 7050TX-64-R and I don't have an image to reset to factory defaults. Many thanks
