Is there a way to update the BIOS on a Dell T330 without having to do it through the OS? All I can seem to find on Dell’s website is exe file and no way to extract the rom / bin file to copy to USB stick and update using iDRAC.

I was told by a Dell support guy that if it's an iDRAC 9 then you can just upload the .exe to it and it'll do it all.

Hi,

If you prefer doing it locally, press F10 on boot to enter Lifecycle Controller, go to Firmware Update > launch firmware update, and point it at a FAT32 USB stick with the .exe in the root.

Second option is to run yourbiosfile.exe /extract:C:\output on a win machine to pull it out, but honestly there’s no need for that with iDRAC.

Also make sure lifecycle controller is enabled in BIOS settings.
