Had the idea of putting this in my T7610 as the Proxmox boot host drive, so not to use my SAS ports, yes I even got the 2nd drive bay extension, anybody have any experience or will it work with the bios, with them being designed for servers?

P/Ns JV70F , M7W47 , 61F54, 72WKY, 51CN2, GK4D64

Or have experience of using 3rd party cheapo cards as the Proxmox boot host drive?

If I recall correctly, the BOSS cards interface with the Dell Idrac to do settings, configuration, and changes to the boss cards. the T7610 does not have Idrac, and therefore would not be able to configure the BOSS card correctly, nor be able to interpret its messages, errors, etc. the BOSS system is pretty much tied in with Idrac compatibility, afaik.

It has a UEFI configuration utility, so might work without the idrac framework, it is basically just a raid-1 sata controller.
(I've got in an R740, but that isn't helpful offhand...)
Edit: Just checked, and at least with an R740 and server 2022 it populates as 4 separate devices;

and the drives show up here:

That s not the actual topology, so things are a little confused...
