These will probably go quick..

Sold by XByte a very reputable dell refurb seller.

Dell Networking S6100-ON 4 Slot (4x 16P QSFP+ Mod Incl.) Switch S6100-ON | eBay

Broadcom Tomahawk chipset... modular design so once the modules go on ebay for 100GbE, you can swap them in as you need them.

Probably the cheapest 40GbE per port switch so far.

had I not gotten the S6000-ON from ebay I probably would have picked up two of these to experiment with vxlan and ECMP.

Its not a bad offer if you need lots of 40G ports:)

This config is also supported by SONiC, but no else is, so if you swap modules it might not work any more., you'll then need to fall back to Force 10 OS v9, thats the latest F10/Dell provided OS. There was one other NOS thats supposed to run (forget which), but that needs a license.

100G modules are still ridiculously expensive (saw one for 1500 recently), and of course idle power consumption is not the best (115W iirc with the single module i have)

I ended up making an offer and seller accepted.
Looks like I’ll have more 40Ge ports in the lab.
