I recently purchased a PCIe NVMe drive for my PowerEdge R740. It is the "Dell PM1725 NVMe SSD," manufactured by Samsung. The Samsung part number is MZPLK3T2HCJL.

iDRAC9 showed an available firmware update: "Express Flash PCIe SSD." After successfully downloading the update, the installation failed with the error: "RED007: Unable to verify Update Package signature."

The machine's OS is Proxmox, a hypervisor built on Debian.

Any advice on how to get this resolved would be appreciated.

first are you running latest idrac, and bios? Yes? Check when the firmware upgrade for that nvme was released. If its an older firmware its likely it won't work with newer or older idrac/bios.

;Check changelog for that firmware patch, it may not be worthwhile to you.

Yes, everything is up-to-date; I am borderline compulsive about having outdated software or firmware on any machine.

What is interesting is that when I use Google to search: Dell Firmware Drivers Express Flash PCIe SSD Firmware "9.1.0" the only result I receive is: Dell Express Flash NVMe PM1725 PCIe SSD firmware release | 驅動程式詳細資料 | Dell 台灣 which is not the same update, and it's also seems to be from a Chinese version of Dell's website.

Additionally,

This appears as if it would be the correct Firmware: Dell Express Flash NVMe PCIe SSD PM1725b Firmware Release | Driver Details | Dell US

If what you're saying is correct, then I'm just SOL and this NVMe is a paper weight?

Likely some performance bug with windows 2012r2 only.

Thank you.

I saw some models are "B" and some are "A" but as you can see from my photo, it is just 1725.

Do you still need the newest firmware for PM1725 ? There are 3 different SSDs .. PM1725, PM1725a and PM1725b. The most current update for PM1725 is Express-Flash-PCIe-SSD_Firmware_Y7P77_WN64_KPYADD3Q_A05_02.EXE but i cant find it via Google.
I have it on my HDD but it is to big to attach it here in the forumpost (17MB). If you need it send me a share where i can upload it.

Alternative location for those needing a PM1725 flash, KPYADD3Q is available on the x64 SUU860_513_x64WI.

I was able to find it by mounting the 21GB ISO and doing a keyword file search for KPYADD3Q.
