Hello, I have ESXi whitebox server based on Supermicro X9SCL with Core i3 3220T. Since second SAS channel stops working on my old RAID HBA PERC 5i I bought refubrished PERC H700 (and cables too, of course).

But I am not able to run new HBA in my board. Sometimes POST stuck on 0x92 - PCI init, disks are spinning and that's all.
If POST pass all tests, It's not possible to run RAID config utility because it takes a few minutes between hitting "C" for entering into controller utility and between error "Adapter at Baseport 0 is not responding ". After that system boots up, because without any VDs.

I have trie alle PCIe 8x slots, same result. PERC 5i works great.

The most odd thing is that in my desktop board from Gigabyte works this card flawlessly. I can enter to RAID config utility, system boots normally, etc.

Any ideas? Thank you.

Could be the SMBUS pins on the H700. These are PCIe pins B5/B6. While some people claim that this is an always/never thing (it always works or never works at all in a given system) I found that my X8DTH-iF board would not size memory correctly if an expansion card with those pins was installed. Do a web search for "tape over pcie smbus pins" for some workarounds.
