I want to add some Dell switches to my daily ebay hunt. Looking for 2-4x 10GbE SFP+ ports. Seems like CX4 stacking is everywhere but by far the cheapest is the Quanta LB4M if you want 2x 10GbE SFP+.

I'm not sold on the Quanta AND I do somewhat want 4x SFP+ ports. Minimum of 24 gigabit also.

My main concern is really price + I don't want something so old that it uses like 150w for a 24 port switch.

If anyone has any experiences to share with a Dell switch in this category I would appreciate any insights you may have.

I have been very interested in these lately especially with the dual optional J9008A 10GbE SFP+ ports. I saw power was something like 82w though and that had me a bit scared. The V1910-24G was around 31-32w max IIRC.

I have a Dell 5524 switch and overall am very impressed with it, I haven't used it for any layer 3 as I read that Dell switches like these generally are not too brilliant at L3.

Power consumption is around 18-19w (240v supply) with no devices connected.

They can be stacked using HDMI leads, although I haven't tested this.
