I have a couple of R510s in a rack, and I'm looking for a decent KVM switch. Don't need anything fancy, but 4 ports might be nice if I ever expand. Does not need to be rack mountable as I have a wooden shelf for my monitor and keyboard that I can just mount it to. I'm considering one of the cheap ones on Amazon, either the Jidetech or the IOGEAR unless someone has another suggestion.

I've been very satisfied with the IOGEAR 4 Port, Model GCS24U ($48.82 with Prime on Amazon). I've never had an issue. As a caveat though, I've only run monitors at 1080p and lower resolution, and its got a button on a long wire for switching (i.e. it doesn't use a keyboard combination). I've got mine electrical taped to a rear post of my rack, and the button over on my desk.

Do you know if this uses Java? I’ve been thinking about KVM over IP as a next project, and am seeing a lot of inexpensive hardware on EBay. But it all seems to need Java...usually old versions of Java. I think if this is Java free, it s a great buy!
Rock-solid enterprise stuff, BUT big ass asterisk: Dongle cables not included... I haven't checked eBay prices, but my guess you'll spend more on cables (even used) than the KVM itself.
I usually pay 12~14$ per dongle. But I like that it’s grow as needed and my cable lengths are controlled by me.
