This is good. Been tracking these. Lowest I've ever seen is $170....

However, ebay is flooded with these drives of late so deals are to be had.

Not a fan, no firmware updates publicly available. Or has this changed?

There will be a lot more deals within the next 6 months. Sadly for sad reasons, US, UK and EU sliding into a depression with heaps of businesses going out of business. Hardware getting dumped on ebay. UK seems ahead, unbelievable what is for sale from there.

And useless/troll comments (what value is there in this comment really? Are we on STH for word political/economic analysis or hardware?) like these are why I sat on the 32GB dimm deal for a month. But that's ok. Apparently someone found value in your comment.

But you know you have a point. If you wait 10 years from now, I'm sure 8TB enterprise SSDs on eBay that have firmware updates available and are *gasp* even faster than this one and maybe even more endurance will be a fraction of the price.

News flash: Some people need something now, not 6 months from now -- not 10 years from now.
Another News update! The other players in this sub $200 4TB ssd space all have massive amounts of firmware updates & fixes right? right? Ooh wait I don't know of any & I haven't seen you post any of these deals. Maybe you are sitting on them? Please post as I"m sure some people will appreciate your deal & others will threadcrap like you did on my deal with no real useful information for someone seeking better alternatives at the same price range.

In the meantime, here is a deal for you:

I think you can even pay geek squad to install it for you and there is a nice windows utility to do firmware updates. Win!

I'm really glad this forum has a block/ignore button.
Was this garbage really necessary?

There is probably some misunderstanding here. I don't see anything particularly controversial in @Stephan 's comment, other than perhaps the hyperbole relating to the global economic downturn.

He is totally right that SSD prices have been coming down recently. Looking forward to more deals, as I missed this one.

He is also totally right that Samsung afaik only makes firmware update files available to OEMs. This is important for some homelabbers, so I appreciate the reminder. Besides, it typically comes up in every other thread on Samsung flash drives.

hey settle down guys we're all friends here.

the ECC UDIMM CDW outlet deal was legend.

This drive is a pretty good value

And yes the Samsung drives usually don't have locatable firmware. Worth mentioning but not a dealbreaker for everybody.

Mate if you rip on someone for being a dik by being a dik it means you are the person you hate the most.

I saw these in August, and wasn't sure if these were too good to be true. I took a chance on one and then they were sold out so I didn't post them. (same seller)
