Can anyone tell me why You put 48GB ram in n100/n305? What container use so much memory?

I wouldn't say it's cheap. I found one for $230 CAD, which is a bit more than the unit itself (no ram, no ssd).
I thought the 32GB I put in this unit for just opnSense was overkill, but I just had one laying around. for 48GB and one would need a lot of containers, but then you'd run into a bottleneck with the CPU. I don't really get it either if ram stick was purposely bought for N100/N300 unit.
When used as virtualization hosts, the more ram the better. I've got an N305 with 32Gb of ram and sitting at 10% cpu with 90% memory utilization running a dozen or so VMs / Containers.
The problem is 48Gb Dimms are not common and usually more than double the cost of a 32Gb dimm. For my use case it makes more sense to purchase another N100 / N305 node with 32Gb ram, than to use 48Gb in single nodes.

(I ended up cancelling my Topton 4 nic order, I couldn't tell which case it was going to be.)
I also liked that this had USB 3 which I could use for a backup drive.
With a Curcial ram and SSD.

I confirm that it is 1.25mm pitch for FAN. I just don't know the pinouts whether they are compatible with PWM FAN.
try to find ground, then 12v and 5v then you will know, just simple use multimeter

It looks like I've narrowed it down to the N100 on CWWK's AliExpress store (cheaper in CAD$ to do it that way) (This one). I have a 3Gig/3Gig PPPoE connection. Anyone running Proxmox and PFSense with a similar speed using PPPoE? I just want to make sure I have the CPU to max out the NICs. My current i5-4570S does it without a sweat (20-30% CPU) but it's power hungry and I'd prefer to reduce that.

Make a boot USB (I think I used an Ubuntu one I had laying around), copy img.gz to the drive. Gunzip it to a raw .img file. Boot your n305 with the USB and just dd it to the nvme, something like
dd if=openwrt...img of=nvme0n1
# pull out USB stick so it boots from the SSD
reboot

The 1.25 pitch 4 pin molex connector adapter fan cable I got from Hunsn (that works on my RJ35 4 port ) was wired differently from the same 1.25 molex 4 pin connector used on an Intel NUC13 for the CPU fan connection.

Guess I will wait a few more days then. Otherwise tempted to get one of the qotom sfp+ denvertons instead
