Anyone familiar with these particular varieties of firewall PCs? I don't see any mention of them anywhere on the forum, figures I'd ask here as they're in the same vein as the CWWKs with the same CPUs.

They're sold on Amazon by an outfit called "UDPTCP" with the 8505 or 1215u. I can't find any kind of webpage or other info about them. Aliexpress has these and other variants for a bit higher cost. I've had no luck in figuring out who the OEM might be or where things like firmware updates/etc. might be available from.

Looks to be they are made by the usual suspect BKHD. BKHD High-performance Mini Host with 11th Gen Core i3-1115G4 processor and intelligent temperature control fan for Routers, Firewalls, Virtual machines, Servers and Home gateways

In my setup I'm using proxmox. For network I have opnsense as a router and openwrt as access point for wifi.
I'm using MT7915e wifi card plugged into secondary m.2 slot via adapter.

adapter : adapter

I've bought wifi card on aliexpress from shop wallystech but I don't think they sell it anymore.

Wifi coverage wasn't great but it was good for me and overall setup worked great until I had problems with power (network ports started to switch on and off rapidly). Right now I've bought meanwell power supply but don't have time for setup the box again.

Did you resolve the power issue? I'm considering this exact setup (adapter + Mt7915). I'm a little concerned that the 2230 won't be able to supply the 3A on the 3.3v rail that the MT7915 consumes.

Good news! With the new proxmox v9 kernel, there is no longer the bug that freezes the network when using the powertop --auto-tune command.
There is still an i226V driver performance bug when power management is enabled but it is corrected in kernel 6.15.6+.

With ASPM enabled + power management, my P8505 consumes 6W from the wall (shelly plug) with 2x 4GB sata drives, 64GB of RAM (Crucial) and 1x NIC UP.
That's really good. What C-State is your package reporting at this wattage?

I found when I used a different power brick from FSP instead of the no-name brick provided, it shaved off another 2W.

(Forgot I'd asked about this, my bad.)

Thanks for the info. Is BKHD the actual manufacturer or another nameplate on these? While they have similar models, I can't find an exact match for the 4-port version w/the same CPU.

Anyone given them a shot? I'm a bit wary given they don't appear to update the UEFI/BIOS often.

is undervolting available on the stock bios, or is that only after flashing the unofficial ones? also is that bios compatible with the ddr4 8505 version? I think i'm the 2nd gen version with pcie4?
