Two open compute servers set up identically except for ram speed: dual e5-2660v1 cpu's , turbo boost off and running xmr-stak-2.4.4

Two nodes with ddr3 1600 mine at ~310 H/s. About 18.0 h/s per thread

Two nodes with ddr3 800 mine at ~210 H/s  About 13.3 H/s per thread.

Also on cnv7 turbo boost off only loses about 10-15 H/s per node.

And surprisingly xmr-stak setup to use low-power mode runs faster, about 20H/s faster.

So turning turbo boost off and running low-power mode runs a little faster than turbo boost on than having a "normal" xmr-stak config and runs much more quietly and lots less heat.

Not what I was expecting.

I'm not really mining just playing around to see if I could tweak cpu mining with cnv7.

Also for reference dual E5-2603 v1's do 166 H/s, and thats with ddr3 800 ram. At about 20 H/s per thread.

An e5-2603 has 10 mb L3 cache for four cores and this cpu is without hyper-threading or turbo boost.

My pc with dual E5-2667 v3 es cpu's with 35 mb l3 cache each run 1100 h/s on cnv7 vs about 1250-1300 h/s on the old cn version.

So it seems ram speed and having more L3 make a very noticeable hash rate difference compared to the original cryptonight version.

Next test is to add faster ram to replace the slower DDR3 800.

ofcourse low-power mode does it very well. the default setting is not the best.
Can we use dual channel?
