I have a P1 and I'm happy. I never actually exhausted write buffer. Comparing to a SMR which I can exhaust write buffer in 1 minute.

I've got one of these and the only kind of use case I would recomend is something like a steam library as the write performance is really bad as soon as cache is full (really really bad)

Did you have a chance to actually exhaust the write cache? I partitioned my drive and use half of it as a temp disk for video processing and I don't even remember I encountered any speed lower than 500MB/s. Most of the time it runs at 1GB/s+. The only thing I did was to leave about 80GB space unpartitioned and unused, so they can be used for better GC.
