Seems Crucial's new MX100 is having a few issues.

My 512GB one dropped out (Windows Server 2012R2 more or less died, but was still able to serve files off the HDDs). Upon reboot the MX100 was found but the server was unable to boot. Took 3 cold reboots to get it to show up and boot. It ran for about 6 hours then dropped out again.

Seems there's a load of others with the same issue:

So, just be careful if you're relying on a MX100, I know they're a popular drive due to the price. Yet again, buy cheap, buy twice. :(

I have one Corsair SSD that if I have it in a system, it will cause the system not to boot. Sounds like yours is slightly better.

Canada Eh?
Good info thanks.

I seem to remember the M4 having a similar issue, hopefully it is a simple firmware tweak.

An issue with M4 was a bug and non-booting at 5000 or 5200 hours of use, but that was easily fixed with a firmware update.

Hoping this is isolated to the specific drives those people got. Although Crucial has made it easy fixes before (e.g. M4 bug), for some it can mean a lot of work.
