It may be recycled flash. Even if it isn't they can keep it. It could be from YTMC or another state funded company. Using stolen IP and government funding to drive competitors out of the market until they are only option left. No thank you.
But thanks for posting a potential deal :D

I know there's a couple suppliers that are selling what amounts to a usb flash drive with a SATA connector. No wear leveling, or trim or anything else you'd expect to have in a SATA drive. You pop it open and its a single flash chip on a PCB. And as one would imagine...slow. There's actually a legitimate niche for super cheap, no advanced features storage, but its a pretty small one. Not that I have any idea if this is one of those, or a scam.

Plus there's always the scam of selling lower capacity drives/chips with compression software installed to make them look like more capacity.

  • Please allow 1-5mm deviation due to manual measurement.

Would be funny if people receive a ssd that is only 2mm tall :)
wtf? 5mm is 1/2 a centimeter. How in the world do you have that much of a deviation on a drive that is 17mm max?!? So the QA is basically non-existent on just exterior measurements by a factor of almost 30%, and what do you think the insides will be like? SCAM!

Yeah F that.
0 available as of now.

Also…they list shipping to the Americas but specifically not Canada? Odd…
Sounds like a targeted effort for exactly what was posted above. F those MFs if that's the game they want to play.

We sometimes forget that China's market cap for these goods is larger than even the US. There are hundreds of millions of people looking for cheap electronics over there too. No reason to sell something like an authentic 1TB SSD that cheaply, even if they got them for free.
It's not that the market cap is that big--it's that the third world is full of scams like this to the point everyone thinks its normal. The chinese want the whole world to be like this so they can dump whatever crap and everyone has no choice--like covid supplies for a pandemic that started in wuhan. But as long as capitalism and democracy exists they can't--so the target is to destroy both of those by 2050 and then fully exploit the world for whatever nefarious or maniacal reasons of why it's so important to do so. o_O F that insanity...
