cpu nvme raid with epyc rome?

I recently purchased an asus hyper m.2 x16 gen 4 card. this card holds 4 m.2 ssds and is pcie 4.0 x16. It is meant to be used in the latest gen threadripper cpus like the 3990x. apparently there is some setting in the bios that allows the cpu to perform sw based raid on the 4 nvme drives. This could theoretically allow 4 of the new samsung 980 pros or the upcoming sabrent rocket 4 plus to achieve 224Gbps read speed with raid 0. I have a few of the epyc rome cpus and several pcie 4.0 compliant motherboards. I did not see any setting in the bios to configure this. Does anyone know if this is possible with the epyc rome cpu?

Isn't that a chipset feature for Threadripper? EPYC doesn't have the chipset.

That's what I am trying to clarify as I have seen some references suggesting that epyc Rome might also support.

There is no Epyc UEFI level raid solution for NVMe, have to do it in the OS.

I was needing to get it to work with VMware esxi. Not sure if there is a way to get that to work.

Don't think there is. Best thing you could do would be to pass through all the NVMe drives to a guest, but you wouldn't be able to set up all of them to be a RAID datastore.
