I'm sticking an EPYC 4545p (65W tdp) in a 2U Supermicro CSE-826BE1C-R920LPB chassis. I have no idea how to find a good CPU cooler. Any recommendations?

The STH H13SAE-MF review (the mb I'm getting) mentioned the Dynatron A47 so I guess that's on my list.

I don't care about noise as this is going in a datacenter.

In a semi-crosspost from altano's Grado availability thread here, I've apparently been able to source a Supermicro SNK-P0093AP4 HSF to go with mine. It was decidedly not cheap though at north of a ton.

Details on the SNK-P0093AP4 HSF are thin on the ground, SM themselves don't have much info about it. The few resellers I did find pointed out it's got a maximum height of 149mm which I think makes it 4U or desktop case only.

As noted in the other thread, the Noctua NH-D12L looks like it's rotatable for front -> back airflow as per the compatibility page for the H13SAE-MF... but from what I've been reading about the H13 boards, it's no longer possible to tweak the fan thresholds in Supermicro's IPMI below 700rpm, so in order to stop the fan asserts I probably would have needed to retrofit a different fan to the Noctua anyway.

I'll see what the noise on the SNK-P0093AP4 and see if it warrants a more modest fan or LNA fitted to keep the noise down. It's rated for the 170W 4585PX so hopefully it should be able to run pretty quietly with the 4545P at half the TDP.

I got a new Dynatron A38 for my 3U Epyc 7532 Rome. Should work with 2U as well, but better check. A38 | Dynatron

But mine is an SP3 and not an AM5 socket. I really cant say if it is very noisy, but then again I do not have my server in the living quarters of the villa.

More in keeping with the 2Uness of the threadThanks to my typo deliberate mistake in t'other thread which altano pointed out, it looks like the SNK-P0094AP4 is available for sale over here.

From the pics on one of their server pages, it looks identical to a Dynatron A47, seemingly available slightly cheaper without the SM branding.

As it was basically a coin toss whether my 4545P might end up in a 2U case at some point in the future, I'm considering getting it. From a few other pages I found, it looks like it might only have been originally rated for 145W with a slower fan (1300rpm at 20% PWM) rather than the current monster (2300rpm at 20% PWM). Fitting that with a less bonkers 60x25mm fan in a 2U with a fan wall should be doable depending on your intended workload.

Similarly there's the A24 (again like an A47 with a smaller fan, 155W TDP) and the A43 (passive, 155W TDP) that'll supposedly fit in a 2U.

I bought a Coolserver R64 via Aliexpress for my NAS; the fan has been replaced with Noctua A6x25 since it's quieter and sufficient to cool a 35W AMD 5750GE.

I took a look at the Dynatron coolers before that, but ultimately decided against them since they seem to use a 60mm fan with custom form factor.
