Hello All,

I propose a thread focusing on these small & cheap 12 port switches for home lab use. Just focus on the SX6012 switches as they are currently smallest & cheapest option for 40/56gb home network, other than direct connect, and not to include other brands or larger sizes (e.g. not Brocade, Mellanox X6036, etc).

Goal is to concisely document stock SX6012 capabilities (56gb Infiniband & 40/56gb Ethernet), complete & current upgrade instructions for EMC OS > stock MSX OS firmware (including specific links for latest tools & firmware,), simple set-up instruction (summaries & links to existing guides), and recommended sources for buying (and pitfalls to watch out for).

If we pull together enough useful information, we can ask Patrick to add information to STH's official references material & resources. ...anything missing?

Best Regards,
ABQ

If someone could point out how to change the P/N: 100-xxx-xxx to MSXxxxx. That is the perfect way to remanufacture the switch.
