Has anyone done a fan replacement on a Cisco SG350 (SG350XG-24F to be exact) series switch? Now that I've majorly trimmed down my home network in my office, it's the one thing that is still quite audible. It doesn't get heavily taxed so I think I'll be fine going with quieter fans IF I can find ones that will work with it.

Before I take my network down and rip this thing open to investigate I was hoping someone else had already done so and could recommend some fans that would work.

I have the same issue with a SG500XG-8F8T and a SG300-52 with replacement fans. The fan failure alert is always on but it doesn't affect the working of the switch.

What fans did you use as replacements?

Don't recall the exact model but it was some sunon fan for the 500XG. With the SG300 I am using a Noctua 40mm fan.

Replaced the fans today and it's soooooo much quieter. Still a good amount of air being pushed too. Temps are good but yea the fan failure error is there. Not a big deal to me. I'll hold onto the stock fans in case of future resale.

Not sure if this will work on Cisco gear. I changed fans on HP 2810 and grounded the tach to bypass the FAN error.

Can you elaborate a little on how you did this?

IamSpartacus, what is the model of the fan that you ordered to replace SG350XG-2F10's fan to make it quieter?
Any feature that may not work after replacement?

Thank you!

I actually have the fans because I sold the SG350XG switch and put the original fans back in before I listed it.

What is the reason you sold the SG350XG? Was there any issues?
No reason other than I didn't need a 10Gb switch anymore as I consolidated my home network down to a single server which also runs my daily driver PC in a VM.

If you are interested in using the same fans I'll gladly sell them for like $15 plus first class shipping.

I Just installed a set of noctua NFA4x20 FLx in my sg350 and I can’t get it to work. Fans spin on start up (as the power goes up to 12v) but as the power drops to 8 and even to 6v the fans don’t spin at all. I think a have the wires straight and think I tried most wire options... does any of the more experienced guys have a clue?

G'day
Wondering if you ever solved this problem - I have the same problem with the same fan in an SG250? Any advice from those who actually know what they're doing?
