Hello there,

I've been a long time lurker, and it's time for me to make my first post :)

I'm planning a nice homelab cluster w/ 40G networking with MLAG and I've narrowed down my switch choices to the:
- Cisco Nexus N3K-C3132Q-40GX
- Arista DCS-7050QX-32S

I will be playing with Ceph mainly, but I do want to try other things.
Noise is of no issue (well insulated basement w/ AC), but power is and so is latency since I want to squeeze every little extra amount of juice out of my NVMe's!

Opinions? Has anyone used either, and which would you prefer?

Thanks for your answers guys.
As I said all I care about is latency in the MLAG configuration, not religious about either of these companies.

If you're focused on latency, the switch is not going to be your issue, as much as ceph itself -- it basically fsync()s everything. Enterprise NVMe with supercap PLP help. 10GbE won't be bottlenecked by single NVMe, but can be by multiple NVMe OSDs.
