stopped buying 2TB
last purchase was 12 x 3TB SAS @ $41.67 shipped
you need newer SAS card to support drives larger than 2TB
remember each slot has a cost

Would love a link.
sorry guys no link because deal was not high quantity single lot.
I offered $500 for all 12 drives and seller accepted.
I bought them as spares and they are still in the box unopened.

I can provide my purchase price history over past few months.
I started around $70 then to $60 and then $50
One of the people here on the forum suggested that it is very possible to get 3TB for $40 or less.
I have not cracked the $40 barrier. But on his advice I waited and bid lower and it worked.

Of course I lost a few times with bids under $50/drive
I have purchased at least 2 dozen each of 2TB and 3TB an d want some spares since these are all old drives.

The trick seems to be SAS HP and Lenovo, mostly HGST drives. I seem to get the tray as well on HP drives but my slots are Lenovo, Supermicro and Sans Digital so I have excess HP trays.

I just ordered 10 as well under two accounts. Hopefully I don't get duds.

Need more backup drives and $15/TB is hard to beat.

Thanks for the info SparXalt, I only use SATA at the moment, but the info could be useful for someone looking for a deal on 2TB SAS drives. Seems like Best Offer is also available too.
