Of the five I ordered from Newegg on ebay three are %100 health one is %98 and the last is %47.

EDIT: The packaging was steller!! Four were sealed in antistatic bags one was unsealed, they all came in special air filled plastic packages and individually boxed.

Welcome SirCrest! Always glad to see new members! Working on looking for some new deals. Will post if I find any! I thought I saw something a few minutes ago, but listing looked too shady. Will keep searching.

Yeah, I took a better look at the listing and realized it was for 1 drive, not for 5 so I deleted the post. It looked abit off too. I am looking around for some other deals and will post if find any. Sometimes they're hidden under the weirdest of sections on eBay. Can't tell you how many electronics I've found hidden in the "Home" section in eBay.

Howdy.

Got my 5 drives from Newegg few weeks ago. Still doing great. Went ahead and got a 2yr warranty on them for 50 bucks total. Does bring the drives up to ~45 each, and I might not doing it in the future, but first time with these drives and thought I'd be worth it.

I don't have the means to go with buying extra as it's own form of warranty, right now they just store data and sit on my shelf until I get myself a 24-36 drive SM chassis finally.

Hey Rainman, These are the older drives, so they are sata2. I do have bad news however.

Seller was shipping for free, and I just checked on listing, and seems like he just tacked on a $7.25 shipping fee. The one I just grabbed was free shipping when he accepted my best offer. Thank goodness I paid right away, or else he would have tacked on the fee to me too.

This puts the drive at $37.25 if you best offer him $30 bucks.

I'm not sure how you guys feel, but this would make it just slightly undesirable for me? I was planning on grabbing another 5 or so to create another raidz1 pool, but now, I don't know. Are you guys ok with paying the extra shipping? The older listing before this one was great because that seller always included free shipping. This seller wants abit more. What do you guys think?

Hey Fritz! How ya been? I've been gone for a while!

Yeah, I agree, the shipping messed up the deal. I mean, at that price, you can look at a Western Digital Manufactured Refurbished or so. I even see deals for Seagate Enterprise drives (ST2000NM0011) that are excellent and durable for closer to $40 bucks, so not really a deal on these if they tack on shipping.

Just survived Hurricane Matthew so all is well. :)

I'm waiting patiently for the next $30 deal with free shipping to come along. also open to larger capacity drives but 2TB seems to be the sweet spot as far as cost per GB goes. I still have lots of open slots in my SM846 storage boxes.
