If the image quality is comparable to the Z32 I will be happy for getting something in the same league for a third of the price.

For anything truly color critical, whatever monitor you get should be calibrated with a hardware calibrator to generate a profile for the specific display. And then you’re probably also spending more money to get a better display and lighting your environment appropriately too.

She currently has laptop and no external display.
Just placed my order.
How you like yours?

Would it work for a monitor some of the time and a display for 4K TV \ Movies others?

Surprised noone has mentioned it... if you're ok with HDMI out from your computer, just go buy a nice 43" 4K TV from Costco or similar for $279 and use that as your monitor. I've been running a Samsung 43" 4K TV as my monitor for the last 6 years.

But this thread is specifically about a 10 BIT IPS display, is your Samsung that too ?

Sure. It makes for a great youtube showing on your desktop when you are not using it for work. No TV tuner obviously

I have a samsung 42in that i have used for that purpose. A few problems: one is that most TV are glossy screen and not matte non reflective. Also lacking displayport and usb-c with DP 1.4 support and power delivery to laptops

The 42in size is actually a bit too big to sit on a desktop right in front of you. 30-32in is about the right size for a big screen on desktop

There is also possible additional unnecessary "enhancements" that a TV will sometimes do that you don't really want or need

Unless a TV has HDMI 2.1 and specifically know to use higher bandwidth available with HDMI 2.1, there might be trouble with gettiing it to display 10bit 4:4:4 chroma 60hz 4K resolution. A lot of 4K TV will display 10bit 60hz 4K but only at 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 chroma which when viewing txt can have a lot of problem esp with txt at native 100% scale resolution.

Just like a HP Z32? Ok, I’m sold. That’s the monitor I have. So I just ordered one of these for the girlfriend.

I wish I could justify a second 32” for myself.
Guess y'all still have not received it? lol.. either that or enjoying using it? or already returned it?

We all waiting for any news or impression ;)

And I'll show my ignorance now... no idea what 10-bit IPS is. ;-)
10bit means over 1billion colors as compared to 8bit which is "only" 16 something million colors

But the panels of most of the 27 or 32 inch monitors under $1000 are "8bit+FRC", not true 10bit. Even they are 99% or 100% sRGB, or 9x% AdobeRGB on their color coverage.

I had posted a Lenovo 32 inch monitor deal around 2 years ago, but it is out of stock in the big online stores, or has refurbished ones with the price tag of the previous Lenovo deal.

way too busy at this moment
I've used this monitor for 10 days, it's just amazing;)
Good to hear you like it! Let us know more about it when you get a chance.

As I said, the only biggest neg is the crappy stand with one adjustment. But it has a great lcd panel. I went back to the monoprice just to change it up and i can tell that there is a difference between this being better than the monoprice.

I like the USB-C charging port, seems to be a fast charging port?
