I have connectx3 cards that I tried to do this with. However, noone ever explains the hardware/software required to connect to a normal rj45/sfp+ network using an infiniband card. And what about the program that's supposed to manage an infiniband network?
I also was using an HP 712495-B21 MELLANOX INFINIBAND QDR/FDR10 36P SWITCH which no one likes to explain how to make work in same config.
I was trying to do this in an elasticsearch cluster but couldn't get it to work.
I work solely in ubuntu 16.04 right now.

Right now I'd love to set this up in a redis cluster on ubuntu.

Can I please clarify something about the ConnectX-3 MCX341A-QCBT dual 40 GbE IB + 10 GbE Ethernet..? With this card, can I use both IB and Ethernet at their full capacity simultaneously? This would be an enormous help in the cluster I'm working on. Are the drivers open source?
