cant see drives attached to sata controller

Hi i have a supermicro X8DTH-6F with SAS 2108 controller. i boot from 1 of the 8 ports of this controller


on the other sata controller have installed the Intel ICH10R drivers but cant see any drives attached to
ICH10R SATA 3.0Gbps Controller

what did i miss

Which OS are you using? Does it not see any drives in the BIOS?

Ya i guess i should have gave you a little more :)


as to the questions, no sata drives show in bios or windows only SAS, OS is windows server 2008 R2 running Hyper-V and FX

my setup,

Norco 4224
X8DTH-6F
12GB PNY ECC,Reg,1333
Single Xeon E5620 2.4
400 watt NightJar passive PSU
1-1TB WD 64Mb 6.0Gb OS
1-1TB Hatachi O.S backup
1-1TB WD 64Mb 6.0Gb VM storage
4x2Tb Hatachi 64Mb 6.0Gb in raid 10 passed thru to WHS 2011 VM
1-TB Hatachi 6.0Gb for WHS Shares Backup

Try disabling the LSI controller and see if the board picks up the ICH10R drives. My guess is that there is a BIOS setting causing this.

Ya , that is a thought , was just thinking both SAS and Sata should function at the same time, ill hit up supermicrosite and give that a try over the weekend. thanks
