Greetings,

I recently updated my ESXi and in the process somehow one of my NVME data stores got toasted and I am no longer able to bring my pool back online. The device was used as a slog.
When booting I see an error that an IO device has been retired.

Running zpool status results in just showing that the pool is faulted. Any suggestions on how to proceed - I’m currently stuck.

There are two solutions
If an slog is missing while the pool is ok, import with -m (napp-it Pool > Import)

"Retired" is a message from the Solaris fault manager.
It means that an error was detected that can affect pool health. To avoid further damage this device is temporarily removed. Check he affected device.

If you have repaired a faulted device or problem ex
Fault class : fault.io.pciex.device-interr
Affects : dev:////pci,0/pci15ad,7a0/pci8086,3901
faulted and taken out of service

you can recover the retired device with the command
fmadm repaired dev:////pci,0/pci15ad,7a0/pci8086,3901

more
see napp-it menu System > Faults > repair or
