I just got a Canon 6D and can remote into it with my Android phone
Canon include an Android app in their SW

Handy for uploading photo's and remote camera control

Thanks for that heads-up! Didn't even see that. The new 70D which is still a month and a half out looks to have that feature also. Might be closer to my budget there. My Canon T2i has been absolutely awesome. The big question is whether I need to upgrade again but that app may be enough of a reason.

I had the 350D this was changing from Film/Slide EOS50e
The viewfinder with APS-C camera's is just so tiny.
The 6D full frame camera (I have full frame lenses from my 50e days) = huge viewfinder, a delight to use
I hate using Live-view its just too slow

Have a play before buying, 70D very nice as well, 7D MK II probably not too far away either

I love the 6D, I'm an enthusiast who'se been snapping for a very long time.
Great low light performance, auto-iso has been probably the nicest feature I can't now live without
Once I get my tripod sorted, remote shooting night skies and lightning with camera as controller is my next aim at getting sorted.

I keep some of my better picture over here of around home and US//Canada trip
Unedited, just uploaded as I went.

That depends on the lens

The Full frame frame lenses on a APS-C body would have less edge distortion as the outer edge is not used.

My Tamron 28-105 f2.8 lens has more distortion than a equivalent Canon would, but my pockets are only so deep
I've had the lens for about 15 years now, the Tokina 100-300 f4 for about 12

Full frame lenses are better at low light and high ISO's
But the smaller sensor are catching up
The large viewfinder would still be the clincher for me.

I've always bought EF just in case I wanted to switch. Good to know.

Sigma 35mm f/1.4 is a great lens and way cheaper than Canon.

By going full frame my lens becomes wider.

On APS-C sensor 28-105mm lens = 45-170 in real terms
A huge bonus in Chicago and New York having the lens actually at 28mm or I would have struggled big time with the skylines

Downside I do miss the 100-300 = APS-C 160-480 equivalent
But wider is more useful in my daily use.
full frame 20MP = very good cropping ability

I think we are solidly OT here. With that said, that Wi-fi feature may make me upgrade instead of getting a nexus 7 2013, or maybe in conjunction with.

I'll see if I can get a screen shot of the phone on how it all looks.

Camera just pairs via WIFI to the phone.
Uploading photo's via WIFI I've not tried
Pictures vary from 4MB to 12MB ea in fine JPG
I'll see if I can do a wee test on this also, see if it's usable

Using the phone as controller is quite cool, in live view I think you see what the camera sees on the phone
Not played with this much either.

Seperated posts out to keep it on track.

Keeping in mind the Nexus 7 can control Canon WIFI capable DSLRs as can any Android and Apple with the right app.

Quick play with it tonight

Took a little while to setup the WIFI, but once done it's easy.

Connect to Smartphone, it takes about 30secs for phone to see the camera.
Then you are greeted with 2 options:
Remote shooting
Remote control of camera work in either Live view or normal
Live view mode is default, in settings you can disable this.
I find live view easier to use via WIFI than on camera oddly enough.
Taking a picture and AF (once enabled on phone) is very easy.
Camera setting via the phone is not, have not found a way to change anything other than ISO and bracketing

Camera Image viewing
Picture viewing over phone is a waste unless you have a tablet or some device with a large LCD
4.3" phone shows no better picture than the camera can.

Print via WIFI printer, I'll probably never use, I doubt I'll ever take a printer with me on holiday

Transfer images between camera's another feature I'll probably never be using

Uploading to webservice another feature I'll never use.

View images from DLNA devices is great
Had camera in Office, logged into WLAN router.
TV (Sony Bravia) in lounge (wired in to LAN) happily saw the camera as device to show picture off.
Was able to use TV remote to browse pictures on the camera, quite neat I thought, but I'll probably rarely use this.
Pictures are grouped into 100's not folders as on the SD card.

All the above eats battery life

There you have it.

Other nwe feature the 6D has is GPS, and again never used it yet.
If I forget where a picture is, I probably shouldn't have taken it ;)

Got the Nexus 7. Have cash in hand for the 6D but am seriously considering just getting the 70D. All I use it for is products.
