i play with a Dell Precision T7910 and it has onboard a SAS3008 for 8 internal Ports. Now i connected a SSD to it but it doesnt run in AHCI mode.
I read a little bit through the forum here and checked my Bios. The chip is running in IR mode.
I see the connected SSD and 3 SATA drives in Windows 8.1 (using storage spaces for the HDDs) but i guess i get AHCI and fester speed for the SSD when flashing to IT Mode.
I checked the only available firmware here but it seems it doesnt inlcude IT firmware. LSI 3008 Firmware Driver Details | Dell US
Is it possible to use the firmware from LSI 9300-8i card ? Or will it brick my onbpard chip ?
I guess its not possible to swith the mode with the Avaga MegaRAID Storage Manager ?
