Hello!

I have just gotten my hands on a Dell H330, and I have two questions. Firstly, can I flash to IT mode with a different computer than the original one? I found a few guides on flashing it, but all of them seem to use the server it was in. Secondly, what cables can I use with it? In the manual of the Dell H330 (here), it says that the connectors are SFF8644. However, I want to know if I could instead use a SFF8643 cable, as they seem much more readily available.

Thank you very much!

Why don't you get 9300-8i (cause thats what it really is.) (its like 15-40 usd.)

1st
Yes, you can flash from any system with pcie. (as long as its not the integrated part - the integrated part requires dell's custom socket to connect)

2nd
The H330 internal one with pcie uses mini-sas cables 8643 cables. So either they made mistake in their documentation or you will need sff8644 to 8643 cable. (~20 usd - potentially more expensive than normal card)

Thank you very much for your reply! The reason I didn't go for an LSI card was because it was going to be more expensive where I live.
