So it looks like those are definitely front brackets, the four-post mounting kit looks like this:<snip>
Not really.

The brackets shown earlier are not the brackets used in the four-post mounting kits. In the 4P mounting kits, the brackets that bolt on to the switch are ~20ish" long.

That's my problem. I'm looking for the 24"-31" expandable kit but I don't know the exact model name of the kit.

Any sag using those just two brackets?
Well I was going to do this "after hours and take the network down" HA!
My impatience got the better of me so I did it LIVE. ;-)

I had a 3U shelf installed on the back of the 2 post supporting the switches.
There's a little play in the top switch at the back maybe 1/32" probably less. Picture didn't show anything.
No play from the bottom switch at the back.
Shelf screws came out easily, no pressure whatsoever and the shelf came away neatly.
At the rack front there's still a gap between the CM panel and the bottom switch.
I'm going to check on it over the next week and see if there is any "stretch".

Now I can re-use the shelf for my always-on server and get that into the rack.
I'm pleased with these ebay purchases.

I was referring to the two post kit that only uses front brackets, I've clarified.

Any part model on the 2 post rabbit ears?
EDIT:
IDK on the ICX6650 as I don't have one. sorry I missed that was what you were looking for.
This image makes me think so.

ICX6610-RMK-2P
I have not seen anyone with this in stock since I picked up my 2 switches in January and for a while the price was between 85 and 120.00 for a kit.

I had a search set up in eBay but have deleted it now since I was able to get the 2 sets of 2 post ears ~52.00.
4 brackets came with each set but they're all front ears. I only needed 1 set to mount 2 switches. My 4 brackets may be spoken for so I need to check.

Based on the 1.5 hours its been mounted and the stability I suspect that the 2 post ears would be fine in a sturdy 4 post rack using appropriate cage nuts.

What does the Lic Capacity colmn mean? I'm seeing different values from others who posted their capacities.

For example, I just received my 6610 48P and it shows

PREM-LIC-SW with lic capacity 65535
and
10G-LIC-POD with lic capacity 4

Displaying sh int eth 1/2/1 to 1/3/8 shows both 40GbE and 16 10GbE ports. Are each 10G-LIC-POD activating 4 SFP+ ports? What about the 65535 for PREM-LIC-SW?

the capacity for the routing features (prem-lic) can be ignored

the capacity for the port licenses is how many ports have been licensed/unlocked. So you only have 4 out of 8 unlocked. If you want full licenses PM me

finally got my 6450-24P powered up in my lab and flashed with all the latest, and without anything connected I’m seeing it pull 60w on idle (gauged from UPS and a kill-a-watt)

Any thoughts on why? searching through the thread makes it seem like I should be seeing around half this.

Thanks for the reply. I've already arranged it from you but want to check the switch before I download them. The wording in the Licensing Guide document in your packet threw me off:
... the ICX 6610 device has eight active 1 Gbps uplink ports. To increase the uplink capacity of four ports from 1 Gbps to 10 Gbps port speed, purchase a single ICX6610-10G-LIC-POD license. To increase the uplink capacity of all eight ports from 1 Gbps to 10 Gbps port speed, purchase a second ICX6610-10G-LIC-POD license.

"show pod" clears my confusion.
Code:
SSH@ICX6610-48P Router#sh pod

Unit-Id: 1
PoD license capacity: 4 (LOWER)
PoD license capacity used: 0

PoD-ports Lic-Available Lic-Used
1/3/1 Yes No
1/3/2 Yes No
1/3/3 Yes No
1/3/4 Yes No
1/3/5 No No
1/3/6 No No
1/3/7 No No
1/3/8 No No
Looks like a "single" 10G-LIC-POD = capacity 4; and activating all 8 ports requires 2 10G-LIC-PODs which means a capacity of 8? I thought there were 4 licenses, each activating 4 ports = 16 total 10GbE.

Final question for the day: is there release notes for the PoE releases? My switch came with 2.1.0 build 001 PoE FW and I'm curious about the changes between that and build 004, latest for the 6610 in your archive.

EDIT: I had a question about the rear ports if they are already activated. They are: the rears are 1/2/1-1/2/10 (40G XL1; 10Gx4 XL2-5; 40G XL6; 10Gx4 XL7-10). PoD only refers the front ports 1/3/1-1/3/8.

Thanks!

rear ports don't use licenses they just work

never seen any PoE firmware release notes, they're probably straight from the PD chip maker, I can't remember who it is, I've posted the part number in this thread somewhere once before at least
