Hello all,

Apologizes if this is the wrong place to post my question, but I am curious if anybody can advise if SFP+ Brocade 57-0000075-01 will work on an Intel X520 NIC. I decided to post here because I have an ICX 6610 switch and currently all my 3 X520-DA2 are connected to the switch with Intel SFP+ transceivers - only one port per card.

I tried to find the answer on the forum and on the net but nothing conclusive came up.
I found someone in my country that is selling some Brocade 57-0000075-01 and I would like to know if they will work in Intel X520-DA2.
I would be great if I can find out is SFP+ Intel to SFP+ Brocade combo will also work

Thanks.

Just ordered two ICX 6450-48s off eBay to be delivered Friday. Pretty excited to play with them and will have some time to go through this thread. Are they pretty accepting of various manufacturers DAC SFP+?

first off thank you @fohdeesha for everything, incredible amount of info.

ive been lurking in this thread watching for a while, a friend is sending me brocade ICX6650-32-E-ADV with a pile of 1m and 5m DAC cables, it appears to be a 56x10Ge SFP+ plus the ports on the back. Console appears to be a mini-USB (which i need to track down a console cable for). with that said, will your guide for the 6610 (which uses the same firmware) work on the 6650?
this will be replacing a Juniper EX4200-24T that has been doing LACP duty to some personal VMware servers in my rack.

and will your license keys your offering work on my new to me ICX6650 @fohdeesha?

the model number "ICX6650-32-E-ADV" indicates it has the advanced routing license, but only 32 ports licensed. port 33-56, and the rear 40gb ports, will not work. I do not have any icx6650 licenses at all, we never used this model

this is the console cable you need: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Micro-USB-...-Brocade-Ruckus-and-Cisco-Routers/22331454739

the icx6650 uses different firmware files than the 6610, but the commands are all identical. just download the icx6650 firmware package from ruckus, and follow the icx6610 guide exactly, substituting the proper icx6650 firmware filenames

Yes there's 3 different license types for it. 10gbe port licenses which I believe are sold in 4s (one license unlocks 4 ports) then rear qsfp licenses, then routing licenses

so do they have to be licensed in a certain order? say you want the rear ports licensed, do you have to license the 10ge ports up front or can you pick what you want?

my other brocade had all licenses applied to it but thats a different animal (FabricOS).
