Hello,

I've been into the PC building scene for about a decade now, but I recently acquired my first server-grade parts: a Dell Poweredge T420 motherboard with 2 xeon processors. Since I only have the motherboard, I don't actually possess the necessary control panel that plugs into the header to boot the system. I'm trying to "hot-wire" the motherboard to boot, but I can't seem to get it working.

Does anyone happen to know which pins I'd need to touch to get it to power on?

Thanks so much!

found no switch.
i have experience with T7820/T7920, they need the panels Embedded Contoller, no way without panel(but my T640 can)
panel is cheap on ebay with cable.

the power distribution unit and PSUs are expensive enough, $25 for the panel should not hurt you.

Can you not just use an ATX power supply with two CPU plugs to power the board?
Dell do not use ATX pinout, the 24pin is proprietary.
the board is missing the PMBus, no PSu detected = system failure.
