Hello!,

I got an S2600CP2J motherboard running E5-2670, soon to be upgraded to E5-2680 v2.

Everything seems to work fine except the BMC and onboard NICs, most probably that part is damaged but would like to know if there's a way to reset the BMC somehow. In the BIOS all the BMC options are greyed out and BMC upgrade tools fail to detect it, as it's nothing there.

Has anybody experienced this?

Possibly dumb question, but are you sure it has the RMM4LITE or RMM4 module installed?

My understanding is that there's some basic BMC functionality embedded out of the box.

Either way, I have the license module (little square module) and the additional/dedicated port cabled to the motherboard.

I've got an s2600gz I haven't quite stood up, so I went and looked in BIOS.
From server management, I can drill into BMC LAN configuration, the bottom most choice.
From there I can see/adjust the BMC network settings, and it shows me that this unit has an RMM4+DMN Module
If I back out, and go to System Information, I can get the BMC and ME firmware versions, do those populate?

In my case, they dont. I can't even go inside the " BMC LAN configuration " option. It's greyed out (unselectable)

I've tried the "force BMC update" jumper. The updater couldn't recognize the BMC chip, same happens without the "force BMC update2 jumper set.
