I picked up a BF2 a while back and I'm looking to turn it into a router but I'm struggling to find a low power host device that will actually cool this thing. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm expecting most of the raw packet pushing to be done on the asic but wouldn't mind having a "performant enough" x86 host to terminate chacha20-poly1305 sessions for the sessions I can't leverage the AES offload in the NIC for. I'd love something small like the t740 but my understanding is that the typical thinclient route here won't have the cooling or the power delivery to support the card. Low power 1U appliances were my next thought but somehow even Skylake era stuff seems to be priced through the roof.
