That hadn't crossed my mind. Seems like they're working on it though:

Power Manager:
Monitor the battery level of your power station, ensuring it acts as an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) for key equipment. Receive alerts when the battery is low.
Coming soon
It might just be a push notification from their app....

It's probably quite impossible to add a USB port that's not just for supplying power over the air....

I was hoping for some 100gbe switches or % codes from ebay, sim racing and home cinema stuff (av receiver, speakers) deals but so far it's been really disappointing :D

I got an AW3225QF for black friday this year. Didnt even have the amex offer that would have made it more of a screaming deal. But I’m tired of the poor ergonomics of gaming on my TV and can’t wait to get back to doing it properly at a desk.

Picked up an M4 Mac Mini at $500 from apple edu store. They don’t require any student ID at this time. Previously amazon had it at the same price, but can’t beat getting it from apple. This thing is so dang cheap there wasn’t even much motivation to drive to NH to save on tax.

I am also in the process of getting some reward credits to stack on top of flash sale discounts on Ecoflow River 3 plus and an extra battery for it. It provides 10ms UPS switchover so it’s the UPS units for homelab equipment that we’ve been finally waiting for. I should probably get more than one of these…

All in all probably the best BF for me in many many years. Pretty great that the best deals are all online so there’s no need to go out and get trampled.

you can sometimes snag 1TB SATA drives in your price range if you keep an eye on the usual holiday flash sales; the SKUs without DRAM tend to dip the lowest and still work fine for a lab. I’ve seen folks mention finding decent deal roundups on sites like pedirayudas.com when they’re checking broader tech news, so it might give you a heads-up before stock disappears

I know this thread is a bit old, but I’ve seen 1TB SATA drives dipping into the mid‑40s during recent sales, especially WD Blue and Crucial BX500 lines. Stock jumps around fast, though. Anyone spotted any sub‑$45 deals lately? I’m curious if prices will drop again as more NVMe models push SATA further down
If anyone cares, I have at least eight 2tb sata drives, that I will sell for $40 each (plus shipping).
Located in southern california.
Drives are used, but still working. Mostly seagate.

For used spinning drives I'm only buying enterprise grade drives, and must be the same model and brand for my NAS. And with that I'm not looking that hard right now. Trying to decide what I really need vs want.

I would like any opinions on this also, I have ”refurbished” a bunch of APC Smartups with LiFePO4 packs but balancing is an issue, none have worked out 100% ad expected
What's gone wrong with them? Which APC models? The 48v?

I will go full Samir on you :D
It's not waste as long as it works.

A sata ssd is in 2025 still "faster" than a hdd, especially for small and random io. If 1TByte is all you need and the price is good enough, why not?
Only Samir can go full Samir. You're only like 80% of the way there :D

I misread it, I thought he is after HDD. SATA SSD makes sense yes

I don't need petabytes of storage in my lab! Four or six 2tb drives in the array would be plenty for anything my lab would need. 10k SAS are not required or desired. I also don't need 24tb for an OS drive when all file storage is handled on another device. Suggesting that people who are looking for smaller drives are any kind of derogatory word you might imply is not called for. This is not a "who's drive is bigger" contest.
