Hey guys,

I’m trying to repurpose a Fireye PX machine and I’m stuck with the BIOS on the Advantech ASMB-913 board.

Here’s what I did so far:

  • Dumped the original BIOS using an EEPROM programmer (I’ve got the bin).
  • Problem: that dump has a BIOS password set.
  • I went through the file looking for “pw/pass/password/hash” strings → found nothing.
  • Tried to open it with AMIBCP, but no luck (won’t open).
  • So basically I can’t clear the password from the dump.
  • I do have a blank chip (same model) ready to flash if I can get a working BIOS.

What I’m looking for:

  1. A clean/original BIOS dump for the Advantech ASMB-913 (.bin/.rom/etc).
  2. If someone flashed another Advantech BIOS on this board and it worked → let me know which one.
  3. Tips on removing/unlocking the password from the dump (tools, offsets, typical patterns).
  4. If needed, I can share hashes of my dump or upload parts of it.

Extra info:

  • Board model: Advantech ASMB-913.
  • Original system: Fireye PX.
  • Tools: programmer + spare blank chip ready to go.

Not looking to do anything shady, just trying to bring this board back to life.
Any help, dumps, or pointers would be awesome.

Thanks!

Christian.

I sent him a DM a few weeks ago but never got a reply :(
I'm sorry to hear that

btw: a dump from other mboard will not help, you need to clean it to use it, ME/SPS is bond to chipset on first run.
but the required tolls for SPS are not leaked, only the CSME Tolls are available.

I'm in the same boat. FireEye branded box, but it's an Advantech HPC-8212 chassis with Advantech ASMB-913i mobo and ASMB-BMC.

I managed to get the mobo password from another user, but FireEye had some custom FW running. The mobo BIOS has no option to change or remove password, and the BMC web UI has no option to update FW.

I've been trying updates via EFI shell, but Advantech only provides docs on updating via the web UI. And BMC FW updates via ipmitool always fail, "Invalid MD5 Signature".

I've been banging my head against a wall for three weeks.
