Hi

I have some Supermicro H12SST-PS v1.0 motherboards running a v1.0 BIOS that cannot be upgraded any further (this has been confirm by Supermicro).

In my other servers, I have Supermicro H12SST-PS v1.2 versions of this motherboard and these have Bifurcation support.

Is it possible to enable\import Bifurcation support in to the v1.0 BIOS?

Both BIOS files are here:

Thanks in advance

I have some Supermicro H12SST-PS v1.0 motherboards running a v1.0 BIOS that cannot be upgraded any further (this has been confirm by Supermicro).
these have 16mb BIOS chips. v2.x need 32mb chip.
supermicro H12/X12 and later BIOS is usualy Root of Trust protected,
any modification fails runtime validation.

your BIOS H12SST v1.0.bin is Rome only
H12SST v2.0.bin is for both Rome/Milan
here is a Rome v2.0 BIOS for 16mb, i'm afraid he won't accept it (RoT)

Many thanks for your input, it is greatly appreciated.

I wont swear on it, but I think RoT is not enabled on these matchboards as I have been playing with some settings without much complaint from them

I will try this on Monday and let you know how I get on

what settings ?
sure cou can change options in BIOS.
if it accepts a BIOS edited with AMIBCP RoT is true offline.
in that case it should accept the Rome only part.
must not mean you can run Milan with the 2nd half of the v2.0 BIOS, but there is a chance.

Sorry, I was not clear. I have made several settings to the BIOS file trying to enable Bifurcation and the system has loaded after being flashed using a CH341 programmer, although my modifications have not worked.

Bifurcation support is more important to me than Milan support

Thanks again

yes, with RoT working, Firmware resilency will reflash to a valid backup(runtime validation)
if RoT is enabled, you need to re-sign the BIOS, can only be done by supermicro and they won't do for you.

your motherboard seems something different from the 2.x one.
but i have not expected any POST code.
maybe you can try other BIOS.
i just ectract the first 16mb of the 32mb file.
0h...FFFFFFh = Rome
1000000h...1FFFFFFh = MIlan
