Use Ship-to, or I can ship them to you. See my above post about the drive.Think there is already a thread for these over here:
[DEAD] WD reds 4/8TB $90/$200 via shucking - update, 8TB reds now $180, 4TB deal looks dead.
Wish I was in the US, I'd find a way to circumvent that 1 per order nonsense.
That is an awesome price, to put this in perspective, here in Belgium an 8Tb WD Red costs 360 dollars...
if it's an ultrastar 8tb he then that would make this an insane deal no?It is a different external drive, so hence the new model number. From what I can tell is that the drive is a white label, Hitachi Ultrastar 8TB He drive with a WD sticker on it.
so, that's the drive with issue of not powering up if there's a 3.3V source, right? The drive in the external is a WD80EMAZ
Yeah, and easy to reverse. Here is a site showing how to tape the pin:so, that's the drive with issue of not powering up if there's a 3.3V source, right?
info here: https://www.hgst.com/sites/default/files/resources/HGST-Power-Disable-Pin-TB.pdf
there's mention of using adapter and cutting off the 3.3V line (yellow?). but wouldn't it be easier to just block/tape off the pins on the SATA power connector for 3.3V?
