Bad HD performance. Can it be fixed?

MB = Supermicro X10SRM-TF

HD = WD SN850 Black 1TB as boot drive. Should be 7000 MB/s

Any way to fix this? BIOS setting maybe?

Says right on Supermicro's website that the M.2 slot is PCIe 2.0 for that motherboard.

Not in this particular case I don't. It's in a 1U chassis and there's only room for 1 expansion slot and an HBA is occupying it. I decided to just store it away for future use and went back to a SSD.
