Anyone interested in a QYK8 for their Asus Pro? I have one but am going a different route. I'll probably put up a thread in for sale this weekend if the kiddos give me time lol.

The CPU works well, I don't have an Asus but the Gigabyte ms03-ce0. It works with the ASUS Pro WS W790E-SAGE SE and is arguably the best CPU for it since it will turbo to 4ghz if you disable half of the cores. I'm in the US which is good because it took some time to get it from China, and who knows what's going to happen because of tariffs.

Whats the difference with the QYK8 vs QYFS?

QYFS Boost 3.7 L3 105M
QYK8 Boost 4.0 L3 112.5M
and diff. accellerator count(not sure)
and price of QYK8 is higher.
Thank you again, the QYFS is equal to the 8480+. Is there any more info on the K8? I’ve been searching with not much success

Anyone got enough ram to benchmark deepseek r1 quants in llama cpp, with some layers offloaded to gpu? im debating buying more ram for this but dont wanty to buy it then the performance be trash lol unsloth/DeepSeek-R1-GGUF · Hugging Face you need like 200gb
I don't know if can post links here from YT but search the channel Mukul Tripathi

Uses a W790 Sage with a single 8480 and a single 4090 running Deepseek R1 among others.

Hello, unfortunately my QYFS broke yesterday (post code 29 no matter how I plug the ram sticks). I want to share a couple details here. A while ago my pump died. Until I realized, I tried to boot a couple times with crashes, in the third attempt it froze at windows load screen. However the computer was on, and the cpu was super hot to the touch. I think something broke at this point. When I got a new pump I was not able to use all my 4 ram sticks, only 3 (otherwise code 29). Also only the right-side slots seemed to be working and my nvme was not detected at one of the slots. But hey... it still worked with 25% less ram so... it was not the end of the world for me.

I forgot about this incident for a while, but the other day I decided to try again to add the 4th stick. Same code 29. Then I thought that maybe I could revert to an older bios (506) and try. So after flashing it seemed to post but also it was impossible to get the 4th stick to work. When I was about to claudicate and flash back to latest bios (1502, I was using this normally before with 3 sticks), to my surprise I was not able to even enter bios. At some point in my posts, I think while memory training, the CPU broke. In the process something went wrong and I ended with all of my ram slots unusable.

FYI, I was using 5600MT/s sticks. I have weird theories about the CPU disabling memory channels with fuses after multiple memory training failures, or simply I fried the mem controller due to the 5600 ram, no idea.

Right now I'm looking into a replacement. Can I get some recommendation?

Tx.

Hello,
W790 sage + QYFS here with 4 GPUs, no issues (at least nothing new).
Have any of you tried to install the Intel ME and BMC updates listed on the motherboard firmware page? Do they cause any issues?

have you read this thread ?
some make RAM OC worse(if XMP RAM used)
just try, you can back to working on some issues.
ime: if you use Flashback ME is updated/downgraded with.

There are multiple reports that it is compatible with SSI-EEB, andd W790 Sage SE is standard SSI-EEB in that regard (I haven't used this particular case, but for both my builds if case said it is compatible with SSI-EEB - W790 fitted there just fine)

I have the same case, the board does fit but the vertical GPU (the one next to the board) might have issues as the motherboard is too wide. If you want to put a GPU there with 2-3 height, then it can fit (the GPU will end up slightly under the motherboard, see the 5090 on the picture), but anything over that (like the Asus TUF 4090 in the bottom of the case on the pic) does not.
In my case I was able to work it out, but it's def not a nice build (because of the 4 GPUs).

Yes, I did read the thread, but I did not find a clear answer.

I'm on the latest BIOS version, I run the RAM on 4800. I saw zero increase in memory bandwidth (needed for my use case) with QYFS, so I went with the updates instead. I just wasn't sure about the ME update as it's wired into everything (I don't know much about it, but I remember the research in security circles, and my own struggle to kill the ME on my Lenovo x230).

there are SPR-WS ES stepping D0/R0 supported, as long the microcode is included in the BIOS it will run SPR-SP D0 thought.
