Hi everyone,

Found this card randomly browsing Newegg, it seems for PIKE II Asus ditched their silly slot interface and now uses standard PCIe Gen3. However, the requirements does state an ASUS motherboard is required:
ASUS PIKE II 3008-8i SAS 12Gb/s Storage Solution with 8 Internal Ports - Newegg.com

It seems like a LSI 9310 rebadge so crossflashing might be possible? Does anyone know if these work with non-Asus boards out of the box or can be crossflashed to generic LSI? Price seems pretty good for 8 SAS3 channels

I believed the connector is propriety to ASUS boards. I have a handful of ASUS systems, the boards have a special connectors for the PIKE controller.

Is this a good price? I don't track price of LSI boards.

For PIKE yes its that split dual slot arrangement on Asus boards but if you check out the PIKE II card its standard PCIe gen3 as listed on all literature.
Price wise I'm not sure if it holds up to your crazy eBay deals [emoji1] but seems decent as LSI 8 ports are about $200 shipped from China

I am going broke just visiting this site.
I'll probably make a post on this. What I've been doing is buying stuff on great deals, playing with it for 3-6 months, then reselling it on ebay. Some I make 10-15%, some I lose 10-15% but letting someone else take the initial new to used depreciation has saved me tons of dinero.

If I kept everything, I'd be broke for sure!

Considering how overpriced their Pike slot stuff has been in the past... good find!

You have good advises, and should make a new post. I think everyone would benefit from your post.
Thanks
