I wonder if the house is too well earthed.
Electrical Specs say a 1.5m steel rod in the ground, I shoved in a 6m long rod, never had issues all these years I've had the DIR-655 and the modem and lived in Lightnig central (before we built the house)
Worst thing is I used to consult for a WLAN supplier they send me a few LAN lightning arrestors
Living on an old Glacier Terminal morraine not helping either.
The Phone line runs 500m from the road up to the house no doubt another magnet for lightning.
I have a VDSL splitter where the phone cable comes into house, strange this didn't blow.
Oh well, old Buffalo router is not a bad one, will miss the DLink.
DrayTek modem gives me max speed both up and down, one good thing
