I mean, it requires re-routing PCIe wires through the PCB. So a complete PCB respin, re-testing, and validation cycle for a drive that you cannot buy yet.

You have to remember, ASRR does not have huge volumes. So that probably adds several tens of dollars to the motherboard to support a drive that few, if any, users will utilize.
