Are there more details? There is the official ASpeed website with some info, but it is a bit lackluster...

For local video output, do these have analog VGA support only or they finally added a digital video output? I know that VGA is still widely used on some market segments, but it dissapoints me that there doesn't seem to be even a minimum of interest to add a digital alternative like DisplayPort (Or hell, even already ancient DVI-D).

I'l answer myself: According to this presentation, there is a slide where they mention Display Port.

Those are solid BMC upgrades. When will see start seeing these in Supermicro boards?

My guess is 2020 on the Intel side as new platforms arrive for next-gen parts. Maybe the initial Cooper push, but if not, then for the Ice Lake platforms in the second half of 2020.

Not official confirmation, just a guess based on release to adoption timing.

hello ,

can this feature "IPMI" also be used easily when running linux or does it need to be used with windows software?

one mainboard claims to add this feature but also adds in conjunction with specific software , like here

" Server-grade IPMI Remote Management: Supports onboard BMC AST2600, along with ASUS Control Center Express IT management software for real-time monitoring and management. "

thank you very much.

the IPMI itself runs on linux. on linux/windows/other you use ipmitool / ipmiutil to comunicate or other GUI based tools.

there is little info available about the features of this ipmi, but apparently there is another piece of puzzle for this item, @AsusControlCenterExpressIT software, so i presume the IPMI features would be rather basic if another software is needed or advertised?
thanks, your answer might come in handy, didnt know of ipmi until recently, when got gifted a derelict HPE server *ML Gen9. there the remote management functions rather nicely.

ipmi is an interface. if you don't want/like console operation a GUI software like this can help,
yo don't need to have all cmds in mind.
