Hello!
I am thinking of buying an Arista DCS-7050SX-72Q-R off ebay.

I know I can flash the firmware to the latest version supported (I read it's EOS-4.28.10.1M).

My main concern is around tranciever compatibility..
If I run a special command (which I think I have found), and restart the switch it would then fully support any 3rd party trancievers, correct?
.. Even, for example, from 3rd part sellers on Amazon marketing their stuff as: "Compatible with Cisco SFP-10G-T-S, Ubiquiti UF-RJ45-10G, UniFi, Meraki,MikroTik,Supermicro" ?

Just wanted to be certain before I buy!

If you run the unsupported transceiver command, and then do a write command, the switch will remember your settings. I've have a variety of oddball transceivers purchased from ebay and my 7500SX works with all of them no problem.

Awesome great to hear!
It's not picky on 40Gb DAC cables it's it?
I seem to be seeing conflicting information on that, but not sure if the posters that were saying it only works with specific DAC cables ran the unsupported command.
Still digging into that a little more, but a quick confirmation would be great!

Thanks!

On a 7050q-16 (and running the command to create the file that unlocks third party support) I used a ton of different brands transceivers, dac cables and aocs without problems

+1 to what MountainBofh said it accepted ALL dacs and optics I threw at it after the command.
