Arista DCS-7050QX-32 QSFP to 1Gbps Copper

Hello STH,

I'm new to 40Gbe switching and am trying wrap my head around how I would go about inter-connecting a DCS-7050QX-32 switch to Cisco 3750 using copper. Im sure I will need a Cisco GLC-T SFP and adapt it to QSFP with the following:

MELLANOX QSFP+ to SFP+ Adapter MAM1Q00A-QSA 655874-B21 | eBay

Edit: Just found that this is probably the SFP I should buy instead of using a GLC-T:

Arista SFP-1G-T 1000BASE-T SFP Transceiver | FS.COM

I just need confirmation that this will actually work. Not sure if the Arista's are strict in regards to 3rd party DAC's and SFP's.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

What I would do personally, is get one of these with a QSFP+ to 4x SFP+ breakout cable: Amazon.com: Mikrotik CSS326-24G-2S+RM 24 port Gigabit Ethernet switch with two SFP+ ports: Electronics

Then use that for cheap 1GbE for anything else down the line.

The Mikrotik switch that patrick has put forward is the cost-effective one. I have bought them from router-board.com, nice and reliable.
As for the competition between QSA adapter and QSFP+ breakout cables, I can't say which one is better for 40G to 10G mode. As some switches can not accept 40G Breakout cables, and some cannot use the QSA adapter.
