Arista 7050Q-16 DAC compatibility

Just got an arista switch off an auction. After factory reset I connected a no-name QSFP DAC it gives:

XcvrAgent: %TRANSCEIVER-3-DISABLED: The transceiver for interface Ethernet5 has been disabled because it is not qualified. (manufacturer Molex Inc. model 112-00178 serial number 309521593)

Are Arista switches picky on DACs? The same cable works fine on brocade icx6610.

sorry a search showed that "touch /mnt/flash/enable3px" does the trick.

Arista will be fine with any DAC. That command works on transceivers pre 4.16 or so. If you're using a later version (and you might not need to with that switch) then there is a different command you'll have to Google for.

Mine came with EOS4.8.6. Everything works fine now. It looked as though that command did the trick. But I will verify it when I get some time later.

Just verified that the file /mnt/flash/enable3px does make a difference for one of the DAC cables. Basically I deleted the file and did a reload then the link was down. After touching the file again and reload the link was up again.
