I don't want to custom build, but I'm ok using an OEM like Dell or HP and adding a 10g NIC or OEM raid controller to get it up to our standard build specs. This is for several remote branch offices and want to use the same hardware config. Will run Win server and Hyper-V w/ a couple VMs. Need at least 8 x 3.5" hard drive slots and prefer SAS. OK w/ used as long as easy to source parts like at recyclers or ebay. Prefer in the $500-1000 range before hard drives. Only thing I've found is R730xd/R720xd, but they are rack mount, not tower which is what I'm looking for.
Are there any used OEM tower computers that support at least 8 x 3.5" SAS hard drives for $500-1000 before HDs?
